INDIANAPOLIS — The heat is on for this final weekend of summer.
Look for a partly to mostly sunny sky today with high temperatures 10-15° above average. Highs peak in the upper 80s/low 90s through central Indiana.
We're staying clear and more mild overnight with lows in the mid-60s.
Sunday will be a copy-and-paste forecast of today with a warm start in the 70s for the Colts tailgate, mid-80s at kickoff and then highs back in the upper 80s under a mainly sunny sky.
Clouds increase in the evening as our next round of rain moves in. Scattered showers will be likely beginning Monday morning. Rain showers continue through Monday afternoon with highs in the upper 70s.
Showers and storms remain likely through Tuesday as a potent cold front pushes through. Highs still reach the upper 70s in the afternoon before much cooler air arrives.
We're looking at highs only in the upper 60s come Wednesday as we ring in the fall season. A few lingering showers will be possible.
The coolest day in the extended outlook will be Thursday with morning lows in the upper 40s and highs in the mid-60s.
