INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Temperatures continue to drop this morning and our lows, in some spots will be 30-35 degrees colder than normal. We will watch this morning's low in Indy carefully. If our -4 forecast low for Indianapolis verifies, it would be mark the earliest sub-zero temperature in the city since Dec. 15, 1989.

It would also mark Indy's coldest temperature in a long time. The last sub-zero temperature was Feb. 24, 2015 at -6. Suffice it to say, it will be a cold day in Indianapolis.

The pattern is going to change as we move into Tuesday afternoon, and then the rest of the week. Expect a gradual warm-up all week long.

There's a chance of flurries Thursday and another potentially stronger system arriving Christmas weekend. Our forecast now calls for rain and snow on Christmas Eve and rain for Christmas Day, but stay tuned to WTHR and our social media platforms for any changes.
