INDIANAPOLIS — Our forecast for the Colts home opener is a complete touchdown. While Lucas Oil Stadium will only welcome 2,500 fans today, many will be rooting for the boys in blue from home with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will be at 68 at kickoff and warm into the low 70s during the game. This is actually a little below average for this time of year -- average is 76.
We're looking ahead to the first day of fall on Tuesday. While it has felt like fall the past several days, temperatures will actually be on the upward trend through next week. We'll see slightly above average with a high of 77. We'll see a few more clouds but the forecast remains dry.
There isn't much rain on the horizon, which isn't an ideal set-up entering into the fall season. September has only brought 0.04" of rain for Indianapolis, about a 2" deficit. The only day this week where rain is looking like a possibility is a stray chance on Thursday afternoon.
