INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Wow, according to folklore, this is the last weekend of summer as we head into the big Labor Day holiday. Believe us, summer will continue for at least another week with above average heat and humidity.
Our forecast today includes a mix of sun and clouds, with afternoon temperatures in the lower and middle 80s. There is a slight chance for a pop-up shower or storm, but most of the area will be dry.
This will be the case for most of the holiday weekend too. Tonight for Operation Football, temps will be near 80 at kickoff. Dave Calabro will have highlights and skylights tonight at 11.
Speaking of the holiday weekend, the big weather story will be the heat. Higher and higher humidity start to build across central Indiana. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees Saturday through Monday. Right now there are only slight rain chances and we will keep you updated.
We will be monitoring several clusters of storms moving along the edge of the heat. The only thing that would change that slight storm chance would be one of those clusters diving our way. Stay tuned and enjoy the long weekend.
