Hurricane Dorian has been holding steady as a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 90 mph.

It’s picked up some speed, moving northeast at 17 mph. It’s located about 50 miles northeast of the Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Dorian will move away from the coast of North Carolina during the next several hours.

The center will likely move to the southeast of southeastern New England tonight into Saturday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center. It’s expected to accelerate to the north east into the Atlantic tomorrow, impacting Nova Scotia late Saturday night.
