Wayne Twp. teacher's aide fired for allegedly exchanging drugs with student

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - An Indianapolis teacher's aide has been fired after being accused of exchanging drugs with a student.

The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township issued a statement Monday afternoon that said Metro Police is investigating the incident, which happened last week. The district said they immediately contacted Child Protective Services and their school police department when they learned of the allegations.

The district did not say at which school the alleged incident occurred, but said "we are cooperating fully with investigators and continue to monitor the well-being and educational needs of the student involved."
