INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Queen of Free, Cheri Lowe, gives tips each Sunday morning on ways to save money.

Today, of course, is Father's Day, and Cheri shared how to celebrate without breaking the bank.

  • Play a Board Game: Especially if there’s rain in the forecast, spend some time together playing a game of Dad’s choosing.
  • Wash the Car: Clean out dad’s vehicle and give it a good wash. Ask if there are specific ways you can do an excellent job.
  • Let Him Nap: Dad might just need to “rest his eyes.” Let him snuggle up and snooze.
  • Write Him a Letter: Recount a funny story, share a sweet memory, or simply say thank you by writing your dad a letter.
  • Movie Night: Let dad choose the flick and fix a big bowl of popcorn to share. No touching the remote!
  • Yard Work: Pull weeds, mow the grass, spread the mulch – get the jobs done that dad usually does.
  • Bake Cookies: Make dad his favorite cookies.
  • Go for a Drive: Buckle up and let dad control the direction and radio dials.
  • Printable Freebies: Special chore coupons, cards, and more on Pinterest.

No matter what you choose to do for your dad, with a little creativity you can make an affordable and meaningful gift.
