PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WTHR) - The penguins at the Pittsburgh Zoo got a chance to frolick in some real-life snow Wednesday.

As snowflakes fell on the zoo, the birds scuttled outside Wednesday morning as part of the regular winter event "Penguins on Parade." The parade is usually held weekend mornings, as long as the temperature is below 45 degrees and the conditions are safe for the penguins.

Zookeepers say the parade is fun for the birds, as getting outside is great enrichment for them.

"Penguins on Parade" is included with general admission to the zoo.
