NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) — We're only a week in, but a student at Noblesville's Promise Road Elementary School got the surprise of the year Thursday.

After serving for a year in the Middle East with the U.S. Army, Alejandro Salazar surprised his son while at school. The district posted the sweet video on Twitter.

Salazar's son, also named Alejandro, is a fourth-grader at the school. He was in the library when his dad came to surprise him.

As soon as he saw his dad, he dropped his armful of books, ran to his dad and jumped into his arms for a hug.

Last year, a Noblesville West Middle School Student got a similar surprise when his dad, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force, visited him at the beginning of the school year.
