Vigil held Wednesday for slain Anderson man

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — A candlelight vigil was held in Anderson Wednesday night to honor 36-year-old David Phillips II.

Police found Phillips' body on Monday at the Rangeline Nature Reserve.

The mother of his three children is struggling to cope with what happened.

"I just hope the people who killed him just really realize what they did to him and his family and his friends," she said through tears. "A part of my heart will always be with him no matter what. He was the love of my life. My best friend."

Others who attended the vigil wrote notes to the family and sharing their memories of the man who died.
