Vigil held as dozens mourn the loss of Indy teen shooting victim

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Dozens of people are mourning the loss of 17-year-old, IPS student, who was shot and killed earlier this week.

Daymarko Tolefree was killed when the teen was shot in a car near 11th and Tecumseh Streets on Monday.

Family and friends gathered Thursday with balloons and flowers and spelled his name out in candles.

Now, his mother, Barbara Tolefree wants whoever is responsible to turn themselves in.

"I want justice for my son. Ain't no way in the world they should be able to sleep at night knowing that you done killed somebody's brother, cousin, son, uncle. Just turn yourself in - that's all I ask," Tolefree pleaded.

Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
