WHITELAND, Ind. (WTHR) - A specially equipped van stolen from a Johnson County family has been found.

The Parson family relies on the vehicle to get their son Tyler to classes at IUPUI and around town. He has muscular dystrophy and needs a van with a ramp and enough space to store his wheelchair.

The Parsons tell Eyewitness News IMPD found the van in Indianapolis Thursday. There is damage to the outside of the van, three of the four tires were taken and the battery is gone.

The equipment Tyler needs is still inside, but the family is unsure if it works.

The van is currently with the insurance company, but the Parsons hope to have it back next week.
