INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — USA Diving announced Thursday it's moving its national office to Colorado Springs, Colorado at the end of the year.

The headquarters has been in Indianapolis since 1981. The organization said the move will happen during the fourth quarter of this year.

"We are so grateful to Indianapolis for being a wonderful city," acting CEO Jack Perkins said in a release. "The Indiana Sports Corporation has actively supported us by putting on first rate diving events and we look forward to returning to Indianapolis next summer for our Olympic Trials."

The organization said the move will allow USA Diving to take advantage of benefits of being in the same city as the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. The move will also decrease overhead and give them the opportunity to work with other national governing bodies based in Colorado Springs.

"We welcome USA Diving headquarters to Colorado Springs’ strong sports economy and growing cluster of national governing bodies," said Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC president and CEO Dirk Draper.

USA Diving will join 23 other sports whose national government bodies operate out of Colorado Springs.
