US Census Bureau looking to hire 3,000 Hoosiers for $22 an hour

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The United States Census Bureau is hiring, and it's looking for employees in the Indianapolis-area.

Within the next 60 days, the bureau said it will need to hire 3,000 people.

The jobs will include census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff.

"Successful applicants will play a critical role in ensuring everyone in Indianapolis is accurately counted in 2020," the bureau wrote in a release.

Employees will receive between $22.50 and $25 an hour.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a valid social security number and be a U.S. citizen.
