COLUMBUS, Ind. (WTHR) – The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office says a Columbus man found dead in a corn field in early October died of an overdose.

Coroner Clayton Nolting said 39-year-old Danny Ray Green, Columbus, was discovered around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 by a farmer in a field near Indianapolis Road, north of Tellman Road across the river from Mill Race Park.

Nolting ordered toxicology as part of Green's autopsy.

Results showed "an extremely high level of methamphetamine," Nolting said.

Green's death is the 17th due to overdose in Bartholomew County this year, according to Nolting.
