UPDATE: Brownsburg taxidermist ordered to return property to customers

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WTHR) - A Hendricks County court has ordered Kevin McGrotty to return property to customers of Brownsburg Taxidermy.

McGrotty, who owns Brownsburg Taxidermy, was jailed and charged with Corrupt Business Practice and multiple counts of Theft in late September.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating McGrotty and raided his business on September 26, 2017.

Brownsburg Taxidermy is located at 9630 North State Road 267 in Brownsburg, and customers can come there on three dates to retrieve their items:

  • Wednesday, October 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

According to a news release from the Department of Natural Resources, customers of Brownsburg Taxidermy who want their property returned may bring any receipts, canceled checks or other proof of ownership of an item, as well as some form of personal identification. If the owner of an item cannot make one of the scheduled dates, they can send a representative with the proper documentation.

The DNR will not hold of any property currently held by Brownsburg Taxidermy and is not responsible for any damage to the property.

No return of deposits will occur on these three dates. In the event.

Customers unable to get their property on the dates indicated may have to go to civil court to seek refunds.
