University identifies student found dead at Purdue Tuesday night

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) - The Tippecanoe County coroner has identified a student who was found dead at Purdue University Tuesday.

Campus police were called to Hillenbrand Hall just before 10:30 p.m. on reports that a student had passed out on the first floor. The student, Eric T. Meyer, 21, of Carmel, was found in his dorm room and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office confirmed Thursday afternoon no foul play is suspected, but their investigation into the death is still ongoing.

The cause and manner of death are pending. Toxicology results may take up to six weeks.
