Two motorcyclists hurt in Vigo County crash; manhunt underway for suspect

TERRE HAUTE (WTHR) - Police in Vigo County are searching for a man they say is responsible for a crash that sent two motorcyclists to the hospital.

According to WTWO-TV, the man was driving a red Pontiac north on U.S. 41 when he struck one motoryclist, which caused that motorcycle to crash into another. Both motorcyclists, who are brothers, were ejected from their bikes.

One of the victims was taken by helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, the other was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital. WTWO reports their condition is not known, but both men were talking with EMTs at the scene.

Police say shortly after the crash, the suspect crashed his vehicle and fled on foot near the Vigo County Fairgrounds. State police K-9 officers joined the manhunt for the man, described as a white male, 5'9" and wearing a black t-shirt.
