Two Beech Grove robberies may involve same suspects

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WTHR) - Police are looking for suspects in two armed holdups that happened minutes apart.

One of the heists was captured by security cameras.

It happened November 26th about 7:20 pm when two men walked into the Expo Bowl near I-465 and Emerson Ave. They pointed guns of the clerk and demanded cash. Police said it happened so quickly, customers weren’t even aware of it.

About 20 minutes later and less than a mile away, the same suspects and a third person, a female, robbed a pizza delivery man at an apartment complex.

The driver, who asked for anonymity, told us he turned to leave after he found no one was in the second floor apartment. That’s when someone pointed a gun at his head and told him to get on the ground.

He said nothing like this has ever happened to him. He remembers wanting the episode to end and feared someone would walk out of an apartment or into the building right in the middle of it.

“I’d like to think they would have cut and run but you don’t know,” he said. “They could have shot me, shot them, who knows?”

A short time later, police showed the driver images from the Expo Bowl robbery.

“It was the same people,” he said. He got a look at the clear still photos showing the unmasked face of the man in a light hoodie and the other man in a Batman shirt, his face partially obscured.

The victim hopes the suspects are caught so this doesn’t happen to somebody else.

“I work with a couple of older man and I work with young girls,” he said. “Better me than them.“

The robbers took everything the driver had, including his car.

“I don’t care about the money, but my car, really?”

Police said the suspects left Expo Bowl in a gray Chevrolet Impala or Malibu.
