INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - All lanes are back open after a semi-trailer hauling 29,000 pounds of chocolate chip cookie dough caught fire shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday on southbound I-465 at Shadeland Avenue.

The fire blocked the right lanes of the highway and led to traffic back-ups for hours.

Drivers had to use Binford or Allisonville as a detour.

Crews at the scene say that the trailer somehow caught fire and the driver was able to detach the tractor from the trailer. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters dropped water onto the burning trailer from the Shadeland Avenue bridge, closing southbound Shadeland over I-465. The bridge has since reopened after engineers inspected it for damage.
