The closure began at around 9 p.m. Friday and will last until Aug. 24. All lanes will be closed.

After Labor Day, crews will start on the opposite direction of I-465 from I-70 down to I-65 on the south side.

As part of the closure, U.S. 421 and the Shadeland collector lanes will be closed, as well.

The full closure means road crews will be able to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time. Maintenance crews will also have a chance to move freely within the closure to clear drains, repair signs and guardrails and do other work.
