CARMEL, Ind. (WTHR) - Roundabout construction projects will temporarily restrict or close three Carmel intersections starting this week.
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, the city will take advantage of lighter traffic to try to finish the three planned projects as quickly and safely as possible:
At Main Street and Guilford Road, crews will complete paving at the intersection, which was substantially completed last fall. Work will begin on or after Monday, April 27, and last for about two weeks, weather permitting.
At Carmel Drive and Pennsylvania Street, a new roundabout will be built to replace the current signal intersection. Work will begin on or after Tuesday, April 28, and last approximately 60 days, weather permitting,
At Range Line Road and Carmel Drive, crews will be installing raised pedestrian crosswalks at each crossing point to enhance safety for both pedestrians and motorists. Work will begin on or after Friday, May 1, and the closure will last about two weeks. After that, drivers can expect about three more weeks of additional work that will cause lane restrictions.
