Traditions continue leading up to Indianapolis 500

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WTHR) — The tradition is a huge part of the Indianapolis 500.

There's the race and there's the event before the race such as the 21-gun salute, taps, the anthem and the beloved "drivers start your engines."

The103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 was no different.

This year's race included driver introductions, rifle salute, taps, anthem, flyover, drivers to your cars and drivers start your engines.
