MEDFORD, Oregon (KOBI) - Police and the FBI are searching for a missing 2-year-old boy whose parents were involved in an apparent murder-suicide in Montana.

The boy, Aiden Salcido, was last seen with his parents in early June at a Walmart in Medford, Oregon.

On Wednesday, his parents led police on a car chase in Montana.

They were wanted because they had felony burglary warrants for their arrest.

When police finally stopped the car, they say they found the mother with a gunshot wound to her head and the father was dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The child was not in the car.

Scott Clauson, Medford’s acting police chief, said, “At this point, all scenarios are on the table. Obviously, we hope that she cared enough for Aiden that we hope she ended up dropping him off with either family up in the Northwest or some kind of foster care set up."

Relatives say the family was homeless and would camp along a popular trail park near Medford.
