Tippecanoe County man found guilty of murdering his wife

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) — A Tippecanoe County man has been found guilty of murdering his wife.

Patrick Elliott was arrested in 2017 after admitting to shooting his wife, Donita. At the time, he claimed self-defense.

On Thursday, a jury deliberated just one hour before finding him guilty.

He'll be sentenced in September and faces 45 to 65 years for Murder, with a possible enhancement of 5 to 20 years for the use of a firearm. The false informing carries a possible sentence of one year.
