Tiger found in abandoned Texas home by confused pot smoker

Police rescued a female tiger from an abandoned house in Houston.

HOUSTON (WTHR) - A mammoth female tiger was found in an abandoned home in Texas by people who were at the house to smoke marijuana.

The person who saw the tiger a week ago in Houston said he thought he was hallucinating, but called in an anonymous tip anyway. Police were able to secure a warrant to remove the 1,000-pound female feline.

Officers said the tiger was in a cage in the house, but they had to tranquilize her in order to move her. The tiger will be moved to an unknown facility Tuesday, where she will take up permanent residence.
