Thousands of free tickets to Indy 500 made available to active military, veterans

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Thousands of men and women from the military will be taking in the Month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for free thanks to a corporate donation.

Group1001, the parent company of Gainbridge, which is the new presenting sponsor of the Indianapolis 500, is supplying up to 5,000 tickets for active-duty military and veterans to events surrounding the May 26 race.

Tickets first became available for last Saturday's IndyCar Grand Prix at IMS and are still available for the Indy 500.

Those interested can request tickets through Wish For Our Heroes. The deadline to apply for tickets is May 22.
