INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Yes, good grades and high test score are a great way to earn scholarships. But if test-taking isn't your best attribute, there are some other, more unique ways to earn money toward college.

Here are a list of unique scholarship opportunities you may not have known about:

Bowling Scholarship

The United States Bowling Congress reports more than $6 million is awarded annually in scholarships each season based on academic, leadership and on-lane performances.

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship

Applicants are asked to write a 250-words or less essay on how you plan to survive a zombie apocalypse for a chance to win a $2,000 scholarship.

The committee wants to know how you plan to avoid the zombies, where you'd hide and the top five things you'd bring to stay alive.

The Make Me Laugh Scholarship

Not all scholarships have to be serious — even when $1,500 is at stake.

This one is simple: describe an incident in your life in 250 words or less. Make the panel laugh with your funny or embarrassing story, and it can even be made up.

The Fifth Month Scholarship

Help bring awareness to the fifth month of the year for your chance to win a $1,500 scholarship.
