Tennessee homeless vets get dignified burial


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WBIR) — Three homeless military veterans were buried Wednesday with full military honors.

Veterans in Knoxville, Tennessee made sure three of their brothers were buried with honor and respect.

Sp4 Kenneth Ray Sharp, Pvt. John Louis Sherer and Pvt. Robert Andrew Wilson got a proper burial through the Homeless Veterans Burial Program.

Military members in the community held a dignity memorial service for the three homeless veterans at a veterans cemetery in Knoxville.

The three veterans honored were all Army vets, two of them having served in Vietnam.

Community members who attended the service said it was a way of giving them a proper send-off.
