INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A teenager is dead in a shooting on the south side of Indianapolis.

Officers responded to the shooting in the 300 block of West Edwards Avenue, near S. Meridian Street and W. Hanna Avenue, just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Police confirm to Eyewitness News a 17-year-old male was shot and that the victim has died of his injuries.

Officers said the teen had a disagreement with at least one person outside of a home on Edwards Avenue. Some of his family members were reportedly in the home and heard the gunshots.

There is no suspect information at this time, as officers interview neighbors to see if they saw or heard anything or if they have security cameras on their properties that may have captured video of the argument.
