Jennings County - A teenager was sentenced in the September murders of a Jennings County couple Wednesday.

Ryan Tyler Renfroe, 18, was sentenced in the Jennings Circuit Court to a total of 124 years.

After a day of hearing testimony from law enforcement officers, witnesses and family members, the Honorable Jon W. Webster sentenced Renfroe to 58 years for the murder of Gregg Gough, age 69, 60 years for the murder of Marguerite Gough, age 66, and 6 years for an attempted escape. The sentences will be served consecutively for a total of one hundred twenty four (124) years.

Prosecutor Alan L. Marshall stated after the hearing, "We are very pleased with the sentence handed down. The various troopers and detectives of the Indiana State Police Seymour Post were instrumental in solving this crime and did a fantastic job. Now, we hope that the family of Gregg and Marguerite can start their healing process with the knowledge that the individual responsible for this heinous crime has been held accountable."

Two other teens being held at the jail in October attempted to escape and stabbed a jail guard in the process. They released Renfroe, who also attempted an escape.
