RICHMOND, Virginia (WTHR) - A teenager in Virginia is trying to prevent a hot car death from happening again.

Hannah Rhudy, 14, created a car tag called "Baby In, Baby Out" to remind people to not leave their kids in the car.

She came up with the idea after a pair of twins died in her hometown.

"This is a horrible way to lose lives and yet it happens to frequently, so I really started thinking of a way to solve this simple problem," Rhudy said.

The tag goes on the rearview mirror. One side is pink and says "baby in" and the other side is green and says "baby out."

So far, more than 5,000 tags have been distributed.
