(WTHR) – Target is making it easier for families with new babies or sick parents to get time off from work.

The national retailer announced Monday that it's enhancing its family care benefits for salaried part-time and hourly workers.

Workers who just had a baby or adopted one will get double the amount of paid time off.

New dads or someone caring for a sick family member will now get four weeks of paid time off instead of two.

Target is also going to help its salaried and hourly workers get back-up care if their child's school closes or their daycare provider cancels for the day.

They'll pay $20 dollars to drop their child at an in-network daycare center.

The new benefits start on June 30.
