Suspect in rape and murder of 13-month-old spotted on surveillance camera

PITTSBURG (WTHR) — The suspect in the rape and murder of a 13-month-old girl has been caught on surveillance camera.

Joshua Gurto, 37, was spotted at the Sheetz gas station in an area northwest of Pittsburg on Wednesday around 4 p.m., WPIX reported.

Police believe that he is traveling on foot with a backpack.

Gurto has been on the run since the day the 13-month-old girl, Serrenti, was found unresponsive.

Serrenti's mom and Gurto were in a relationship. He was living with them at the time.

WPIX reports that before Gurto was caught on camera, he was seen with an unidentified male on Oct. 13 in Girard, Pennsylvania.

Anyone with information on Gurto’s whereabouts should call 911 or the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 866-4WANTED.
