INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A suspect in the murder of a doctor at his Eagle Creek home tried to change his plea on the day of his sentencing.

Devon Seats was facing murder and burglary charges. He had accepted a plea deal and was facing up to 50 years in prison during his sentencing Thursday.

At the last minute, Seats said he no longer wanted to plead guilty. A hearing will now be held in a couple of weeks to decide if Seats is even allowed to change his plea at this point.

Dr. Kevin Rogers family had been set to put the case behind them. He was killed in his home in November 2017 during a robbery.

Three other suspects have already been sentenced for their role in the crime.
