Suspect cleared in Dollar General shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Sources confirm 51-year-old Douglas Cobbs has been eliminated as a suspect in the shooting death of Brian Eure at an Indianapolis Dollar Genearal store.

Metro Homicide Detectives learned Cobbs was on an airplane at the time of shooting.

Detectives sought charges against Cobbs after several people identified him as the man caught on camera during the deadly robbery at the Dollar General Store on Emerson Way during the Memorial Day Weekend.

The suspect shot and killed Brian Eure who worked as an assistant manager.

After several tips identified Cobbs as the suspect, U.S. Marshals picked him up in Las Vegas.

IMPD homicide detectives are back to square one searching for the killer.

Police want the public look at the surveillance video again to help them correctly identify and find the shooter.

The store clerks family made public pleas for someone to call the crime stoppers hotline at 317-262-TIPS.

All calls to the hot line are confidential and if your tip leads to an arrest you'll receive a cash reward of up to $1000.00.
