INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Metro police detectives want you to take a look at images of a burglar caught on camera on the city's east side.

The man who broke into the home on Arquette Drive got away with nothing, but a surveillance camera got him.

As he moves through the house, the man seems to have no idea a camera is recording his every move.

The owner installed the hidden camera while he has the house rehabbed for a family to one day call home.

It's been vacant for several years, according to longtime neighbor Jim Stone.

"Nowadays, people do what they can to try to get something. They don't care how they get it or who they get it from," Stone said.

While inside late Sunday night, the would-be thief stacked several items near the front door. At about the same time, someone was calling police.

When officers arrived, they found a second man parked in the driveway. He was questioned, identified and released.

The man seen on camera fled out a back door.

"People in this neighborhood, if they see this they will know 'well, they got that guy off the street anyway.'" Stone said.

If you recognize the burglar, you can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (317) 262- TIPS.
