Sunny Streak Continues

Another stellar autumn day on deck with a beautiful blue sky, light wind, and mild highs in the 70s this afternoon.

Temperatures quickly drop this evening after sunset and lows bottom-out in the 40s again Wednesday morning.

Wednesday is a near carbon-copy with the exception of afternoon high temperatures a few degrees warmer in the mid-70s.

Temperatures continue to swing up Thursday and Friday with highs near 80 as the wind becomes south-southwest.

The warm-up comes with increasing cloud cover Thursday with only slight rain chances. We're still on target for a sharp cold front impacting the region late Friday... dropping highs from the 80s to mid-50s Saturday.

This transition brings a period of wind-whipped showers and some thunderstorms. It's still early in the game, but the timing for most widespread rain looks to be between 5 PM Friday - 5 AM Saturday.

In addition to the much colder air Saturday... windy conditions emerge as a strong area of low pressure cranks to our north. This produces a tightening pressure gradient that brings wind gusts of 30+ mph Saturday and possibly 40+ mph Sunday.

Saturday is a mix of sun and clouds with a brighter sky on deck Sunday. Highs go from mid-50s Saturday to mid-60s Sunday. But both days will be windy if you have outdoor plans.
