INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — This Saturday volunteers will honor the life of a Parkland Florida school shooting victim, who was planning to go to U Indy in the fall.

Flags 4 Fallen will carry an American flag for Nicholas Dworet at this weekend's July Half Marathon in Indianapolis.

A representative from U Indy will accept the flag at the end of the race and then send it to Dworet's family.

Dworet accepted a scholarship to swim at U Indy the week before the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School in February.

Flags 4 Fallen is a volunteer group that gets runners to carry U.S. flags to the finish line of races across the country to honor families who have lost someone too soon.

The race starts at 7 a.m.
