BOLIVAR, Ohio (WTHR) - An employee at an Ohio supermarket is facing felony charges for snacking on lunch meats.

According to the Canton Repository, someone tipped off loss prevention officers at the Giant Eagle store in Bolivar about the employee, who had reportedly been nibbling on the meat at the deli counter. The tipster said the woman had eaten about 3-5 slices of ham nearly every day for eight years.

Occasionally, the newspaper reported, the woman snacked on salami.

The store's loss prevention manager did the math and concluded the employee had eaten $9,200 worth of meat, which led to a felony theft charge.

The woman admitted the snacking to police Friday, the newspaper reported.
