ST. LOUIS (WTHR) - When a young patient at a St. Louis hospital finishes their final chemotherapy treatment, the entire city will know about it.

A new billboard installed Wednesday on Interstate 44 includes a 12-foot metal bell that will ring when a child finishes the treatment at St. Louis Children's Hospital, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Children already ring a bell inside the hospital when they're done with chemo, but this will give them a chance to spread the word.

Nurses will be able to control the sounds on the giant bell from an app on their phone.

The Post-Dispatch reports 5-10 children finish their chemotherapy at the hospital each month.
