INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Indy Eleven will apply for entry into Major League Soccer Tuesday, the team confirms to Eyewitness News.
The news was reported by SI.com Monday night, a day before the MLS closed the application window for expansion. The team tells Eyewitness News team owner Ersal Ozdemir will deliver the Eleven's application for MLS expansion to the league office in New York Tuesday.
The Eleven currently play in the North American Soccer League.
The league said in December they would add four teams and 11 other cities - including regional foes Cincinnati, Detroit and St. Louis - have already stepped forward as potential applicants.
