INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Colts game this weekend is about a whole lot more than football. The Colts are making sure it's all about fun for families.
There are all kinds of fun ways to celebrate the home team with kids. Kickoff against the Cleveland Browns is at 4 p.m. Saturday inside Lucas Oil Stadium, but families can get their game-going starting at 1 p.m. at Touchdown Town on the north side of the stadium on South Street. Try out the Colts Play 60 Zone or a 40-yard dash. There's also face and hair painting, autographs and music.
New this year, kids under 18 can find out what it's like to be on the field. They just head down there immediately after the game — with their parents — to get a feel for where the Colts play. The field visit is for the first 30 minutes after the conclusion of a game.
If it's the first time a child has been in the stands for a Colts game, they can pick up a "My First Colts Game" pin at a guest services kiosk. Also, kids can grab a free armband at the kiosk as part of the game-day giveaway.
For the first time, the Colts aren't requiring a game ticket for children 24 months and younger. In the past, everyone who attended a game needed to purchase a ticket. Now, that rule is only for anyone 25 months and older.
Imagine this adventure — sleeping at Lucas Oil Stadium. You can buy a sleepover package, which includes a sleepover on the field, game-day tickets, mingle with Blue, meet a Colts player, watch a movie on a Jumbotron and get a copy of Blue's new book. Click here for more information.
