INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports the Indianapolis Colts have signed Brian Hoyer to a three-year, $12 million deal.
The Colts confirmed the move in a release Monday afternoon,
Hoyer was originally signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2009. He's also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Hoyer joins Jacoby Brissett — also a former Patriot — as the two quarterbacks on the Colts roster.
The Colts are looking to find a steady replacement at the position after the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck.
