LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's called March Madness for a reason.
For Kentucky--it's early March sadness-- as the #2 seed Wildcats fall 85-79 to #15 seed St. Peter's University.
The No. 15 seed Saint Peter's Peacocks beat No. 2 seed Kentucky Wildcats 85-79 in overtime.
Saint Peter's, which is located in Jersey City, New Jersey, is part of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
The Peacocks are just the tenth team to pull off an upset as a No. 15 seed. While the March Madness feat is super rare, there was another 15-over-2 upset last year when Oral Roberts beat Ohio State.

Hoosiers dance over
(AP)-Logan Johnson scored 20 points and fifth-seeded Saint Mary's took advantage of No. 12 seed Indiana's grueling recent schedule, rolling to an 82-53 victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
Saint Mary's pulled away late in the first half and led by as many as 34 points — and the overtaxed Hoosiers couldn't catch up.
It’s that time of year when basketball reigns supreme on and off the court. The 68-team field for this year’s NCAA Tournament has finally been revealed.
Gonzaga has earned the overall No. 1 seed with Arizona, Kansas and Baylor each earning a No. 1 seed in their respective regions.
The tournament begins March 17 with the Final Four taking place on April 4 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
After losing in the semi-final against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament, Kentucky has earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They will play No. 15 St. Peter’s on Thursday in Indianapolis.
The Hoosiers were one of the last four teams in and earned a No. 12 seed and will play in the First Four matchup against Wyoming. They will play on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Dayton, Ohio.
This is the first time the Hoosiers will play in the tournament since 2016.
Where is the 2022 Final Four?
After winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, the Racers earned a No. 7 seed. They will face No. 10-seeded San Francisco on Thursday in Indianapolis.
Update (Associated Press)
KJ Williams scored six of his 18 points in overtime after Murray State blew an eight-point lead late in regulation, and the seventh-seeded Racers extended their winning streak to 21 games with a 92-87 victory over San Francisco in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Even though Bellarmine won the ASUN Conference Tournament, they are ineligible to compete in the NCAA Tournament. They recently made the switch from Division II to Division I and must wait four years due to NCAA rules. The Knights are currently in year two.
That means Jacksonville State, who were the regular season champions, will receive the automatic bid.
