Conor Daly may have finished 29th in Sunday's Indianapolis 500, but he might have won the Victory Banquet Monday night.
Daly, who drove the ShirtsForAmerica.com car sponsored by Pat McAfee, took a page from the Colts punter's playbook, delivering a hilarious speech at the podium.
He poked fun at himself with a new pair of shoes and buying his first new suit.
"I'm really trying to be a grown-up," Daly said.
When it came time to thank his sponsors, Daly started off on a patriotic riff.
"I'd like to thank Christopher Columbus for coming over here and discovering this great place," Daly said. "And I'd like to thank George Washington for establishing such a wonderful country."
He also thanked the veterans and "just the American country, 'cause it's awesome."
Daly's race ended after a crash on Lap 115.
