High schools across Indiana are paying tribute to a southern Indiana coach by leaving the lights on.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - High schools across Indiana are paying tribute to a southern Indiana coach by leaving the lights on.

All of this week's high school football games will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium, but schools statewide, have turned on their stadium lights in honor of West Washington head coach Phillip Bowsman.

Bowsman died after suffering a stroke while coaching in his team's semi-state game last Friday.

Athletic directors and coaches all across the state turned the lights on Friday morning and the gesture is getting a huge response.

The lights will stay on until after the coach's funeral on Saturday. See more tributes from around Indiana by following the #BowsmanStrong hashtag on Twitter.
