INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Lawrence North handed Northwestern its only loss of the season in winning the IHSAA 4A Girls State Basketball championship Saturday night in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Jayla Smith made five 3-pointers on her way to 22 points as the Wildcats won their first girls basketball title and finished with a 26-4 record.
Northwestern, which moved to 4A after winning the past two 3A titles under coach Kathie Layden, finished 29-1.
