American Senior Communities (ASC) has launched a new campaign called "It's Time!" that is dedicated to getting back to normal as safely as possible.
Melanie Perry, Director of Memory Care Support Services, shared ASC's commitment to health and safety across their locations with 13INside Track.
"We are taking great steps to follow CDC advice, to follow Indiana Department of Health advice, and to make sure that we have our very own infection control practices in place as well," Perry said.
Perry shares some ASC initiatives that help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- Addition of a full-time infection preventionist at each ASC community.
- Use of needlepoint bipolar ionization systems to sanitize the air.
- Utilization of electrostatic fine-mist sprayers that sanitize high-touch surfaces and furniture.
Augustus Cottages at American Senior Communities are homes for individuals living with diagnoses of Alzheimer's disease or related forms of dementia. Residents of Augustus Cottages have access to very specific programs to serve their needs.
Throughout the COVID pandemic, American Senior Communities has learned it's so important that families and residents need to keep a connection and are happy the facilities are being reopened.
"We are pleased to welcome people back and family members back into visit their loved ones, we are happy to have that in-person visitation," Perry said.
