What exactly does “Assisted Living” mean?

"The term is very descriptive," said Laura Roman of Westminster Village North. "It means that someone needs additional care to allow them to live as independently as possible. They might need assistance with medications, with showering and grooming"

When do you know someone is ready for Assisted Living?

Roman says you will often see a decline in health or a loved one who isn't taking their medication as they should be or not eating nutritiously.

Does Medicare or insurance cover Assisted Living?

"Medicare does not cover Assisted Living, some long term care insurance does cover Assisted Living so if you have a long term plan you should look into that." says Roman.
